Church Activities
The life of Străjerul community is determined by the specific of its vision to locally, historically experiment the life coordinates for Christ's Church.
The activities of the Străjerul Church focus the attention of the believers not on the formal meetings or on the day of Sunday, but on every day life. In this direction we consider that as sufficient only one liturgical meeting per week with all its involvement and meanings, and the rest of its actions focus towards development and invigoration of the community, and to be able to achieve its fate under present conditions of life.
We present some actions of the Străjerul Church that have the purpose of outlining the specific features of an evangelical community in an eastern area:
1. Estimating and defining actions of its own confessional identity
- Bible study;
- Reading from the great theologians of the Church, from the saint Parents to the contemporary theologians;
- Debates, conferences, soirees with and without invited persons at community level with themes specific for this problem;
- Studies, articles and papers elaboration.
2. Defining and structuring actions for its own liturgical space
- Study of the Christian tradition;
- Outlining a church music style and defining its role in the worship process (listen for a few samples);
- Own musical composing.
3. Actions for formation of the community spirit and values
- Organization of some celebrations on occasion of Christian holidays;
- Summer camps;
- Specific groups for forming young people, women and catechists;
- Social and economic projects.
4. Actions for knowing the religious and cultural environment
- Periodical visiting of various churches from different evangelical confessional environments, but also visiting the traditionalist churches;
- Organization and participation in joint projects with other Christian communities.
5. Missionary actions
- Prayer;
- Personal relations;
- Organization of Christian holidays;
- Soirées, meetings and Christian cultural actions opened to the wide public;
- The magazine.
