Projects

The Church Strajerul supports, elaborates and develops a series of projects among which we present:

1. The Christian Culture Center

This center has as purpose the creation of a supporting frame for the youth in the city of Iasi, especially for students. The basic idea is that of making available for the young people a set of cultural elements that embodies and transmit the ground values of life and Christian thought: books, music, movies, masterpieces, etc. To these are also added the specific infrastructure elements: reading rooms, audition rooms and video rooms, computer and information technique, etc.

The Christian Culture Center wants to be also a space that offers alternatives to usual ways of spending free time for young people (discothèques, bars, street). In the center there will be organized specific cultural manifestations: seminaries, debates, book launchings, previews and auditions, exhibitions, etc.

For this project there were achieved:

• Cultural meetings with different themes and various celebrities;
• Exhibition of various cultural creations of some Christian artists: music, photography, poetry, literature;
• Book presentation;
• Film preview;
• Grounding of a Christian Culture Association that will supervise the project;

The needs connected with this project target the acquisition or building of a proper premise that is suitable endowed in achieving the objectives of the Center.

2. Economic and Social Community Projects

In achieving a healthy community life, the Church Strajerul encourages and supports the development of some private economic initiatives that will lead to the creation of many work places for the community members and to the accomplishment of quality social environments.

• Vegetal farm - As purpose is the tillage and distribution of quality agricultural products having small prices to the community members, but also to other people interested in these products.
• IT field projects - The city of Iasi has a special potential in grounding companies or projects in the IT field. The Strajerul Church wishes to support the young Christians that have a education in this field to be initiated and to develop profitable activities without feeling the need to emigrate in the more developed countries.

3. The magazine Foaie pentru minte si suflet (File for Mind and Soul)

From October 1998 on a monthly basis is issued the Christian magazine “Foaie pentru minte si suflet”. The purpose of this magazine is to draw the readers’ notice (especially the young generation) to the main problems that the statute of Christian brings into the contemporary society. Together with underlying the problems it is taken into account the approach of new solutions starting from the Christian values presented in the Holy Bible and practically achieved in the history of the Church.

In this publication we want to attract towards collaboration as many students as we can, especially from the academic environment of Iasi city.

The magazine was published for a period of five years and in the last period it is issued in electronic form.

4. Building of a Chapel for our Church

According to the vision of the Church, so as to develop our activity in a proper environment for the community activity we propose building of a chapel.

We want to construct a light building having the architecture specific to a chapel of small dimensions. The chapel must offer a worship space for maximum 200 persons and to contain as annexes two-three rooms for other activities. The building will be located in a part of the town where there are few churches (Pacurari, Dacia, Alexandru cel Bun areas). Details of the chapel project
